fireworks at my house by Barbara Edwards

The fourth of July is also time for my family picnic. the town has a firework show in the park next door. everyone brings food and we enjoy being together.
The volunteer fire department parks an engine close to the houses in case a shell starts of fire. After its over, they will walk the woods searching for any problems.

The fireworks are so close, we need to lay on blankets to watch the show.

I took some pictures to share.

I can't imagine fireworks not being set off over water! I guess that's not an option everywhere. Great photos.

Love your photos! Fourth of July is as quiet as a tomb here. The fire risk is so great, anyone caught shooting off fireworks would probably be lynched by their neighbors.

Great photos. Lucky you having fireworks brought to you. I never tire of watching them. Whether it’s the Fourth of July or some other reason to celebrate.

Your photos are great, Barb, as always. At the state park, they shoot off fireworks over Lake Michigan. Spectacular! Instead of joining the crowds, we sit on our deck and watch our neighbors set off fireworks over our pond. Always fun, but I didn't see any this year--too busy finishing the edits for my new release.

This year I stayed indoors with the blinds shut as my pup wasn't enjoying the noise. He finally fell asleep squeezed in-between me and the back of the couch. After a bit he started to snore which, I swear, was louder than the pops going on outside.
