Nice Place to Visit by Barbara Edwards

My son took me to the Norfolk Botanical gardens Azalea show.  Of course its an azalea display in Norfolk Virginia and absolutely stunning.
When we visit its usually a brief pop-in pop-out but this time it was well worth it.

The gardens are full of tiny corners with wonderful statuary, flowers and shrubs. Too much to list and too much to see in one day. I look forward to the rose show, coming next.
The garden was started in 1939 with the planting of 250,000 azaleas in what was considered a swamp next to the new airfield.

Please follow, friend or like me. I love to hear from my readers.

I can't believe I'm first to comment. (That's because I'm in Arizona and it's only a little after 10pm.) Love the pictures, Barbara. I love going to horticultural gardens at different times of the year, just to see the different flowers.

Lovely pics, Barbara. They remind me of Buchart Gardens in B.C. Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous! I've driven past the botanical gardens several times but have never gone. D'oh! This is going on my local-places-to-see list. Thank you!

Hi Diane,
I love gardens, too. I could spend three days there each season

Hi Leah,
I know. I've done the same thing, but this is worth the entrance fee. try the tram ride or boat ride though the canals- absolutely fabulous.

Oh, I love azaleas, Barb! I never seem to live any place where they'll grow well, so I have to settle for pictures. Yours are beautiful. Thanks!
