It's me, REMullins, and I'm happy to be here!

First of all I want to thank the Roses of Prose for letting me join their group. It's both an honor and a privilege and I absolutely can't wait to see my author pic on top of the bed of scattered red roses.

As a new rose, however, I must admit I'm not one of the stately, long-stemmed red ones. I've never been a formal or traditional sort. As much as I'd like to say I'm a yellow or coral blossom (maybe even a two-toned or striped variety) I'm not exotic either.

I'm more of a pink rose. Not hybridized into something impressive but more homey. You know the kind. They can often be found growing wild along country roads.
And, as you can plainly see, I'm considerably past the bud stage. The dew of innocence dried up a long time ago. It's true. My petals are full-blown and some are past their prime. But while a few  petals might have become a little loose...none have fallen off. Yet.

My best accomplishment in life, and the reason for any loose petals, can be easily found in my three amazing, gorgeous, and funny children. Most of my favorite memories involve us laughing together over something silly.

However, the most surprising thing I've done, so far, is to become a published writer.

I got the idea for my series while working as a phlebotomist in a medical laboratory. For some reason being around all that blood inspired the vampire/paranormal/romance theme. The books focus on the four siblings in an ancient vampire family. Each story has its own HEA and may be read as a standalone. Read in order to see the saga unfold.

IT'S A WONDERFUL UNDEAD LIFE tells the story of the eldest child and son, Gabe Blautsauger.

What happens when you pray for an angel and get a vampire instead?
It's been a rough couple of years for Cailey Kantor. Facing her first Christmas alone and bad financial news, she prays for an angel to fix her problems. Instead, a sadistic, sociopathic vampire, with the goal of starting a vampire war, attacks her and forces her to drink blood stolen from the Nosferatu Gabriel Blautsauger.

Gabe must complete Cailey's turning or she will die. In doing so he risks losing his yet unfound soulmate. But something about the lovely mortal speaks to his heart. Once her transformation is complete, he and Cailey find themselves embroiled in a battle that could cost them all they hold dear.

Faced with lies, abduction, and betrayal Cailey wonders if the vampire she is falling fangs over heart for is in it for love or if she's just a means to stop a war.

Next is Rafe's story in: VAMPIRE IN THE SCRYING GLASS.

Rafe Blautsauger, vampire and enforcer, must put his feelings for the mortal Morgan Maquire aside. The Nosferatu council who employs Rafe strictly forbids their love. But he can't stay away from the beautiful woman who causes his blood to beat with new life.Yet, she hides a secret, one he must expose in order to protect her. Morgan keeps her unique gift of magic under wraps due to a spell gone horribly wrong when she was young. She is haunted by a nightmare where two malevolent glowing red eyes stalk her. Can she trust the arrogant but oh-so-handsome Rafe with her secret as well as her heart? Can he help her regain her power in time to save the world of the living and the undead.

On March 23, 2016 comes Metta's story in: A VAMPIRE TO BE RECKONED WITH.

He was both her enemy and hero. She was his best student and biggest regret.
Vampire Metta Blautsauger is known as the family airhead and she works hard to keep up the façade. It’s the perfect cover as she goes from dispensing her own brand of justice as a vigilante to an agent for Orcus, the Nosferatu shadow agency.

Captured, tortured, and left for dead, she is forced to leave both the agency and Lucas O’Cuinn, the mentor she’s grown to love.

For the last century she’s struggled with regret and boredom. Then her life is given new meaning when four mortal ministers ask her help in stopping a human trafficking ring. If Orcus discovers her unsanctioned involvement, they will brand her as a rogue. The penalty is death. It’s only a matter of time before Lucas arrives—stake in hand.

Lucas O’Cuinn has waited ninety-eight years for Metta’s return and he’s run out of patience. It’s time she remembers she belongs to him.

I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about the books I've written and, once again, thank you to the Roses of Prose for adding me.

Good morning, R.E. I think you and I grew up in the same rose garden. :-) I'm more of a country rose (despite my suburban NJ roots), and am definitely losing some petals. I love the back story of how you started writing vampire stories! The look intriguing...checking them out!

Welcome to the roses, R.E. We're certainly thrilled to have you. A few of my petals have fallen, I'm afraid. Meeting deadlines and doing the dreaded promo will do that to you. Your premise for your series sounds interesting but, alas, I am a vampire virgin.

Good morning and welcome to the Roses. Nice lead in, and your books sound like vampire winners.

Thanks, Leah & Vonnie for dropping by and commenting.
Now Vonnie, I must say all genres need to be experienced. It's better to be a bookwhore than a bookvirgin. I've tried them all - or at least dipped my big toe into every genre. They opened up whole new worlds that I was unfamiliar with. Sure, I've got my favorites but I don't regret a single book. Okay, that's a lie but you get my drift.
So get out there and kick up your heels. Shake a few more petals loose. My vampires aren't dark and creepy but easily pass for human. Of course, that's if you overlook their mostly liquid diet, blur-inducing speed, super-human strength, and the ability to mesmerize.
My books have seduced other 'virgin' readers. One comment I've repeatedly received is they feel the very humanity of my vampires makes them more palatable for the squeamish.

Thank you Brenda for being the conduit in making me a group member.

Welcome, R.E. I feel like a country rose, too. With me, what you see is what you get. My petals (energy, mobility, etc.) has definitely fallen off. LOL But I'm still here. Best wishes on your series. Sounds intriguing.

Thanks Diane, this seems like a great bunch

Welcome aboard, Robin. We're pleased to have you and your petals (in whatever condition) with us! LOL I, too, am a vampire virgin, but one of these days I may take care of that particular problem...

Glad to have you here, R.E. The thing about this bunch of roses is we have not been de-thorned, even if we've dropped a petal or two. We get downright prickly when someone messes with this bouquet. Now that you're bunched with us, you can relax...and we can handle vampires, for sure. We're in a bloodsucking business, after all :-) I love the idea you worked with blood for all those years and decided to make money off it. Glad you have a sense of humor...you'll fit right in.

Ha, love all the rose analogies. I won't go there because I can't top any of the ones you ladies have used. :) So happy to have you here, Robin. I am a book whore, and a vampire whore, and your books sound awesome. I love the unique direction you've taken. Welcome!

Make money off it, Rolynn? What's that like?

Thank you, ladies for your gracious welcome.

Welcome to the Roses of Prose, Robin! I love your inspiration for writing vampire romance. I've often thought of phlebotomists as vampires. LOL. BTW, if you have a full, uncropped version of your head shot, I could use it for the new sidebar. We, also, can't wait to see your smiling face among the roses!

remullins said...

Yes, phlebotomists have been called everything from vampire, leech, and tick. I think tick was my favorite but they just don't carry the je ne sais quoi of a vampire.
Alison, I also put the uncropped head shot in a message to you on our yahoo group board

Nice to have you with us RE. And don't we all just have a few fallen petals? You should fit right in. Love the twists and turns of your teases.
