HELP! I’VE BEEN ABDUCTED! BY Vonnie Davis

I’m begging Leah to post this for me. You see I bought a new computer with Windows 10. The new version abducted nearly all my passwords. I can’t blog anywhere including my own place. I have an online charge account I can’t pay. And I can’t renew our drivers’ licenses.

I’m trying to fix it all. I really am, but it takes time. Time when I’d rather be writing. When I need to be writing and promoting. I hate when life gets in the way and it has at our house recently.

I’ve got kidney stones. Calvin keeps falling and no doctor can figure out why. He lost his main hearing aid and I’ve yet to find it. And today he lost the other one in the garage. Thank goodness we found it. My sweetheart decided he’d make a frozen pizza so I could keep on reading over a galley. Ten minutes later, the house was filled with smoke and every smoke detector in the house was blaring. We had tomato soup and grilled cheese for supper while fans worked overtime.

But life is still good. We’ve got each other and our sense of humors. And I’ve got a fairly new release. It’s steamier than I usually write and there’s a scene in a BDSM club that is more comical than sexual. The novella is part of Kindle Worlds. It allowed me to bring to life a heroine I’ve been dreaming of for three years or more. A female coach of a male collegiate basketball team.

Men coach women’s teams and no one bats an eye. Why can’t a woman coach the men? I did some Google research and found there had been a female coach of a men’s team. And I thought if there was one, maybe there was two or three. So my female coach, Gracie Luera, would work. She also writes erotic romance during off season and is working hard at her strong attraction to bad boys.

She travels to NYC to RWA and is mugged. Who comes to her rescue? Football bad boy Webb Mohanty. It’s laughter and pure steam as they fight their attraction for each other…even at the BDSM club where she’s gone with another writer to do research for a book.

I'm glad to help, Vonnie! I just wish I could help with all the other woes. It's amazing you can keep writing through all that. The new novella sounds like a hoot. I'm off to check it out!

What is with computers lately? You read my tale of woe last month where my 3-yr-old laptop up & died and I had to buy a new one. But your woes, Vonnie, supersede mine. I hope your health and Calvin's improves soon and you can find his hearing aid. How you can release a book with all that's going on is phenomenal. This one sounds like a real winner. Off to get my copy.

Good thoughts sent your way to help you at least cope with all of the maladies. Although you seem to be doing that pretty well on your own. The new release sounds like a fabulous read. Like the others, I'm off to check it out.

You've hit upon the mysteries of life: computers, kidney stones and Calvin falling. We live in a technologically advanced age with amazing advances in medicine, but we can't cure kidney stones? We can't keep Calvin upright? It's summer, so the deities must be on vacation. As for the positive, thank goodness you put the funny into BDSM (thinking Ellen Barkin in the Big Easy, again). Glad you're enjoying the Kindle Worlds...you AND Calvin are smoking' :-)

I'm sympathetic to your computer woes. My (almost) new laptop has started needing a hard restart almost every morning, and I can't figure out why. I'm also very sympathetic to your health mysteries. I've never had kidney stones, but OG has, several times, and they're HORRIBLE! As for poor Calvin's falling, every time OG tips slightly I warn him, "You'd better not fall, because I can't pick you up!" So far, he's responding to my threats, but time will tell. I wish you all the success in the Kindle World with your new book. The story sounds like classic "Vonnie" to me!

This is one of the reasons I'm resisting getting a new laptop. All those damn passwords I never wrote down! I've been wondering (and worrying) about why you haven't been leaving comments and hoping nothing new was wrong. Keeping my fingers crossed those stones pass soon and the doctors figure out Calvin's balance problems AND you get the new computer up to speed!

Oh, I hear your pain. I kept getting notices that my browser was out of date but in order to update the browsers, I had to update my Mac operating system. As far as I was concerned this was a no-no, but eventually I couldn't get into bank accounts, cc accounts and so on, soooooo---all passwords lost of course. Slowly recovering...As for the falling, see if Calvin can straighten both his legs. I kept falling for no good reason and it turned out that one leg doesn't straighten due to knee problem. But hey! you've got a terrific book out and I wish you well (and Calvin steadiness and uprightness)

Computer problems -- Ugh! Computers were supposed to make out lives easier, but sometimes it doesn't seem to be that way. You and Calvin need to take a break and relax. In the meantime, I'm on my way to Amazon to check out your new release!

Keep that sense of humor, Vonnie. It gets us through a lot in life.
