I moved out here last November and have been entranced with this
view from my writing window. It is an ever-changing panoramic of seasons
and visitors and a constant source of entertainment.
Since I'm currently deep into revisions, I'm going to cheat on this post and just share a few of the pictures I've taken. Oh, heck, these might be preferred over my ramblings...
Great Blue Heron
Snowy White Egret
Fawn has just about lost its spots.
Is it any wonder I often have trouble getting any writing done?
(I promise I'll actually write something next month. See you then.)

Lovely photos! (I usually find things far less beautiful to distract me from writing.) :-) Good luck with your revisions!
Those pictures are amazing! They sure would distract me. Oh, and, ditto what Leah said about the revisions.
Great photos. Glad your shared them.
It is a gorgeous view. The pond alone would be enough without all
the wildlife. Less lovely but still fascinating, I discovered a opossum on my deck last night eating some fruit I'd put out for the birds. Did you know Mockingbirds and Cardinals love red grapes and hummingbirds, orioles, and grosbeaks (I think?) go nuts for dark red cherries?
RE, where do you live? I'm so jealous. the only time I have a really great view is when I'm out in Jackson--baby moose, mountains and a variety of birds of course. At home I get the occasional deer... good luck with the revisions!
Inspirational, RE. We all need something pretty to look at in order to clear our muddy brains! You definitely have the site. Gorgeous!
Love your surroundings. So inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
Robin, beautiful photos. Now that's a view to inspire!
I love the wildlife outside my office window, but you have a much greater variety. Thanks for sharing!
I don't think I'd get anything done if I had such a view. Right now, my view is of a scummy pond and ducks. The geese can stay away.
I live in the southwest corner of Missouri. Last fall I moved out
to my mother's farm after she suffered a slight stroke. She has
36 of the most beautiful acres ever seen and that's even after her
place was devastated by a tornado in 2008.
Thanks for all the lovely comments. Now back to work. I must get
revisions done. I must get revisions done. I must get...
Gorgeous!!! The view would be inspiring and distracting at the same time. No need to apologize for not 'writing' a post. A picture is worth a thousand words, and these are worth way more than that! :) Thank you for sharing.
My writer's loft offers the best view of our lake and I see all this same wildlife--plus a bald eagle and osprey. Very inspiring! Nice post.
