June is for Words! by Brenda Whiteside

June is for words...and do I have a few. First off, I'm posting late. Here are words for that snafu: @#@$%$^&*(*)?#$

Wedding anniversary - always good words for June - especially now that I can remember the date. It took me years to get it right and yes, I am female. For some reason, the date always evaded me. My husband would walk in the door after work with a gift and I would be clueless. I scheduled myself to be out of town a number of times on our wedding anniversary. One year when we lived in Las Vegas, I went to Phoenix to visit my parents. At 5:00 on our anniversary, in walks my husband with a beautiful gold charm for my bracelet. Okay, that time I cried. The date didn't stick with me until we'd been married for over thirty years. We moved and our  new phone number ended 22. It finally clicked that my wedding anniversary was the same as my phone number and I never forgot again.

Another June word is "moving" which is what I am in the middle of and why I'm having trouble keeping up with life. I'm only moving to the other end of the house, but it's still an absolute mess. I have to empty everything out of our bedroom and bathroom, pile it all in the middle of the living room and wait for my daughter-in-law to empty their bedroom and bathroom into this end before I can then continue the trek to the other end. Crazy, yes, but better than cross country like last time.

June is the month my first book released, way back when. So I'll leave you with a few words about that first book. It's a fun, quick read and great for summer.

Sleeping with the Lights On

After two failed marriages and countless relationships, Sandra Holiday thinks she’s met the man to end her years of less than perfect choices; choices that not only derailed her travel-related career plans but also left her single and broke.

Carson Holiday, a Las Vegas country crooner with swoon-inducing good looks, spent his adult life pursuing a recording contract and love, never holding on to either. After eighteen years, he drops back into Sandra’s life, reigniting an attraction he can’t deny.

When Carson reappears, Sandra must choose again.  Only this time, nothing’s as it seems.  A secret admirer, a redheaded stalker, and an eccentric millionaire throw her on a dangerous path, with Carson her only truth.

As life confronts her with yet another turning point, will her decisions find her eternally sleeping with the lights on – or will she finally discover a way to turn them off?

I hope you have a really good reason for moving to the other side of your house. Other than enforced cleaning. LOL As for anniversaries, I know mine is the end of August but I have to think about the day. Married on the 26th in '95. So I, for some reason, always think it's the 25th. I feel your pain.

It is a good reason, Jannine. The bigger half of the family needs the bigger half of the house! And now that we have the RV we won't be hanging in the house as much anyway. Maybe it's a writer thing on anniversaries. LOL

Wow. Nice to know I'm in good company with the date forgetting. Congrats, I think, on the latest move, Brenda.

Thanks, Margo.
