How the heck did things get crazy enough for this? I've asked myself that many times over the course of my adult life...at least since I've been married. And since I was a baby when I got married, that question has always been a joint query with my husband. We've reinvented ourselves several times. Looks like we're off on another adventure.
We've been city folk most of our lives. And we've had one heck of a good time living in six states and two countries, sharing life with all makes and models of friends and acquaintances. We've lived in a variety of domiciles from a funky little apartment in the back of a condemned house, to a three story one hundred year old German farmhouse, to a beautiful home with a view of the Pacific...except you had to hold down anything breakable when the trains went by.

So, here we are again. Everyone keeps asking us "what's next?" We don't have an answer yet. I know I'll keep writing. My husband knows he won't be too far from fishing waters. Beyond that, we're still figuring it out. Some of my more, um, stable friends, shake their heads at me. "How do you do it?" "Why are you so calm about not knowing?" "How can you just up and go somewhere else?" It's all about the adventure. We don't mind change. Gosh...I don't have to worry about getting bored! And another adventure is bound to give me more fodder for my books.

I agree. I've changed jobs and locations so many times over the years. Keeps the brain juices humming. Good luck to you.
Thanks, RE. It does!
Oh, Brenda, sad but exciting at the same time. We married as children too, and somehow always figured it out! Best of luck on your latest adventure!
Yep, Margo, an adventure around every corner.
I'm an Army brat with a wanderlust inborn, so I actually am more concerned about people who DON'T move around the U.S., travel abroad and change careers. Brenda, you are normal (to me). We stopped boating for four months a year (sold the boat)...instead, spending two months in Europe and another month on the East coast last year. My only issue with changing location/careers, is it's hard to develop long-term friendships. I miss that.
You have Frank and your RV. What more do you need? Oh yeah, the internet. Once you work that out, you're golden. Enjoy the fun of figuring out your next adventure!
Followed Hubs' jobs to 3 states and different places in Mich. So glad to settle in one place, in a house we planned. I wish you well on this new adventure, Brenda.
I can't wait to hear where you and Frank land next. At least you're both on board with new adventures. OG and I have moved 11 times since we got married. I always find change exciting--OG, not so much any more.
Brenda, I'm another one who's moved more times than I can count. People talk about putting down roots but I see home-ownership as just a variation on traveling the world--you just stay somewhere for, maybe, three years instead of a week or a few days. I wish you well on your next adventure.
I think it's fantastic that you're still moving, trying new places and going on new adventures, Brenda! My husband and I moved almost every year the first dozen years of our marriage, then we settled down for a little over a decade in New Jersey, then about 8 years ago picked up and moved to Virginia just because. I love it here but I'm feeling the wanderlust again! Enjoy your new place, wherever it might end up!
I admire your attitude Brenda, and wish you all the very best. Please keep up posted.
That is a drawback, Rolynn. But ah the people we meet.
You're correct, Jannine!
Thanks, Diane and Alison.
That is a take on it, Andrea!
That's one trouble with moving around, Leah. It's hard to not want to do it again.
Thanks, Beth.
Wow, I admire your spirit of adventure. I think I could handle that, for the most part, except I would really miss the people I had to leave behind. I look forward to hearing where your next adventure takes you!
I have a lot of trouble leaving behind those people. Right now, we'll hang in AZ because of my family. We'll visit the son and his family often in CO.
