Metaphorically lost I can understand. My heroine in my latest book can understand that, too. Lacy Dahl has learned her husband wasn't what she thought he was - after he's dead. Her father died shortly before her husband, and now her mother has died. But these are her adopted parents. As an infant, she was the sole survivor of the plane crash that killed her parents. She's feeling a bit lost, alone. That's the kind of lost I can understand. No physical roadsigns to give direction. She goes in search of who she is and finds...lots of secrets, lies, murder - and love.
Lacy Dahl never questioned her past
until the deaths of her adoptive parents and her husband. A husband who wasn't
what he seemed. Her research uncovers secrets about the mother she never knew;
secrets that dispute the identity of her father and threaten her life.
Sheriff Chance Meadowlark is still
haunted by the murder of his wife and the revenge he unleashed in the name of
justice. When he meets Lacy he is determined not to become involved, but their
pasts may make that impossible. As they move closer to the truth, saving Lacy
may be his only salvation.
Lacy begins to think the present is
more important than her past...until Chance's connection to her mother and a
murder spin her deeper into danger and further from love. Will the truth
destroy Lacy and Chance or will it be the answer that frees them?
"Lost" can mean a lot of things, can't it?
A
mother she never knew, the identity of her father disputed – secrets, threats
and murder. Lacy’s past and present collide spinning her deeper into danger and
farther from love.

That's a very sad kind of lost. Especially when there's murder involved in a past she doesn't know. Sounds like a great night-time, popcorn kind-of-read.
I love the weaving of love and suspense. I think you do it quite well. Good luck with the book.
Thank you, Shirley and Vonnie. Sad, love, suspense, murder - fun to write.
I think our characters need to be a little lost emotionally to provide conflict. Your heroine has it in spades! Great post.
I agree with Jannine - lost characters make the best reading!
Yes, there are more ways than one to be lost. I agree, lost characters are interesting to read about, and your book sounds awesome.
You're all right. Nothing to read when someone has it all together. Have to have the journey.
Can't wait to read how you unravel the mystery. Awesome luck with this!
Thanks, Margo!
The book sounds fascinating - I'm intrigued by the secrets. As for lost, I'm notorious in my family for having no sense of direction - and if we're ever driving and I tell you to turn left, I probably mean right :-( Yep, it's that bad.
Sounds like a great read, Brenda. Have it on my TBR list :-) Best of luck,
Diane
Glenys - when my sister and I go place together, we make at least one u-turn. You and I should never drive together. LOL
Thanks, Diane!!
