that borders Henry Park. The annual fireworks
show is fired from the Fox Hill Tower, the
highest point in town and less than three hundred
feet from our home. To say the least it is
spectacular. The explosions are right overhead
and it feels like you could reach up and touch them.

As a safety measure the local fire department
has crews placed at each danger point. We have
one at the end of the road and they keep watch
during the show. All their equipment is ready to
use.

ReplyDeleteNice, not having to leave your house! I wondered how the rest of the country handles fireworks. Ours are shot off over Lake Tahoe. In Crescent City (near the tiny town where I grew up) they're set off over the ocean. Most places don't have the luxury of a large body of water to reduce fire danger. Thanks for sharing.

Lucky you! I've been fortunate enough to live near water most of my life, and the fireworks are typically set off on boats. I remember cars lined along the bridges to watch. Aren't fireworks wonderful!?
